FT: Palace 0-1 Chelsea. Costa's 13th of the season moves Chelsea nine points clear courtesy of an 11th straight league win. Palace remain 16th, three points off the relegation places with their rivals yet to play this weekend.
Chelsea very close now to 11 out of 11. A new club record in the same season....
Townsend blazes the free kick high into the stand. Pardew looks very disappointed!
Dann bamboozles Fabregas with a smart turn and wins a free kick 30 yards out.
Five minutes added. Hope for Palace!
CHELSEA CHANGE: Costa replaced by Batshuayi.
Chelsea remain a very real threat on the counter.
Have Palace got one last chance in them?
Another Palace free kick is well defended by the Chelsea rearguard. Real confidence and belief in that Chelsea side.

PALACE CHANGE: Fryers on for Kelly.
OFF THE BAR! Alonso curves a sublime 25-yard free kick over the wall and onto the crossbar. Unlucky.

Delaney booked for hauling down Hazard just outside the box.
ATTEMPTS ON TARGET: Palace 2-5 Chelsea.
Costa surges onto a ball in the left channel but sees his shot from a narrow angle superbly blocked.
If Chelsea do take the points it's the type of victory that is traditionally the hallmark of champions. Not at their best, but solid and clinical.

PALACE CHANGE: Cabaye off, Campbell on.
- OffVictor MosesChelsea
- OnBranislav IvanovicChelsea
CHELSEA CHANGE: Moses off, Ivanovic on.

PALACE CHANGE: Puncheon off, Townesend on.
Moses gets free on the right of the box... but slips over at the key moment!

Both sides pressing and the game is getting stretched.
Hennessey with a good strong hand to keep out Kante's low drive towards the far post.
Benteke with a half chance! He chests down for himself but sees his effort saved by Courtois.
Fabregas arrives on the edge of the box but his low effort lacks power and Hennessey saves easily.
Puncheon struggling with a knock. Palace getting Townsend ready.
Good effort! Alonso arrives on the far left to flash a volley from an arrow angle into the side netting.

CLOSE! The ball is worked from the right into the middle for Moses who sees his shot on the turn brilliantly blocked.
So, Kante and Costa both missing for the Blues on Boxing day. Could it be costly?
Azpilicueta gets his head to it again but this time is lucky to see it fly over his own crossbar. No control on that defensive clearance.
Cabaye over a free kick on the left for Palace.
- Yellow cardN'Golo KantéChelsea
Kante booked - he will miss the Boxing Day match with Bournemouth. Moses also cautioned.
This would be an eighth loss in 10 for Palace. Worrying stuff.
Palace moving up a gear as they try to force a way back into it.
Azpilicueta deals with the dangerous free-kick delivery. Corner ball.
Puncheon wins a cheap free kick on the left flank. Chance to bring Dann and co forward.

Kante thunders in a rushed shot from 25 yards that Hennessey can only push clear. It was straight at the keeper but hit with real ferocity.
Palace win a corner on the left but it's hung up with no real pace, allowing Courtois to move off his line and easily pluck it out of the air.
Zaha forces an error from Cahill that Cabaye seizes upon. The Frenchman wastes little time letting fly from 25 yards but sees his low drive well parried by Courtois.
Palace immediately on the attack but Puncheon's cross from the left goes behind.

- End of 1st Half
HT: Palace 0-1 Chelsea. Costa's fine header late on has put the leaders in control after a poor half of football that the home side had shaded.
Two minutes added.
Benteke is tumbled on the edge of the box by Cahill as he tries to chase a cross but the referee is having none of it.
That was Costa's 13th of the season. It's also hard on Palace as the visitors had barely troubled them up to that point.
- GoalDiego CostaChelsea
GOAL!!!! Chelsea have stolen in front. Costa hangs in the air and plants a super header into the far corner from Azpilicueta's delightful cross.
May or may not have credence, but this has certainly been a disappointing half of football.
PHOTO: Cabaye is chased by Hazard and Willian.
Puncheon whips the free kick over the wall but two yards over the bar.
Puncheon with great desire to win a crunching challenge. It breaks for Zaha who jinks towards goal and is tripped by Alonso. Free kick 22 yards out.
McArthur arrives late in the box but thumps a long-range header wide from Kelly's lovely cross.
Azpilicueta takes aim from 25 yards but slices widly wide of the near upright.
Palace loft a free kick towards Dann but Alonso wins the initial header and then hacks clear. The full back then continues his charge forward and almost gets clear, but his pass to put a teammate clear is cut out by the last man, Puncheon.
So far, so good for Chelsea's rivals. The Blues need to up the ante if they are to move nine clear by the end of play this afternoon.
STAT: Palace's 1-0 win over Chelsea back in March 2014 is their only league victory against the Blues at Selhurst Park since 1990.
Willian plays it short to Kante who sees a rushed 35-yard shot easily blocked. Strange choice from Willian.
Free kick to Chelsea on the far left. Willian over it once more...
Is Costa's lack of activity down to an off-day so far, or Palace's tactics?
Half an hour played and it's still Pardew who will be the happier of the two managers. Palace have had the best (and only) chance of the contest.
Calm defending by Dann as he guides a header back to Hennessey after Hazard had chased a long ball over the top.
Willian finally delivers the free kick and Ledley thumps a header out for a throw.
Still awaiting the free kick as Zaha has a rant! Moss trying to calm the situation.
Hazard tumbled by Zaha on the left, 25-30 yards from goal.
Confirmation that Costa's booking means he'll be suspended for the Boxing Day clash with Bournemouth.
Not far off!
- Yellow cardDiego CostaChelsea
Costa booked for a needless hack at the back of Ledley in the midfield.
BIG CHANCE! Cabaye feeds Kelly in acres of space on the right. The full back looks up and delivers a low ball into the path of Puncheon who scuffs horribly wide from 10 yards out.
Could possibly query the referee on that yellow card. Yes, it was a caution but so was Kante's earlier. Palace will feel aggrieved.
Chelsea work it short but Kante's eventual cross is too high for Luiz at the back post.
Luiz drills it low but it hits the outstretched foot Ward, who deflects it behind for a corner.
Luiz and Willian over it...
- Yellow cardJoel WardCrystal Palace

Chelsea fans in good voice as their side begin to settle.
Alonso with a deep cross from the left that Puncheon heads clear despite a difficult bounce.
Turgid stuff so far.
Kante gets a talking to from Jon Moss. It should be a yellow card after he clearly denied Palace an opportunity to break from halfway.
DID YOU KNOW? Chelsea are already guaranteed to be top of the Premier League on Christmas Day. They have won the league title on each of the four previous occasions they have topped the Premier League on December 25 (2014-15, 2009-10, 2005-06 & 2004-05).
Pardew will be the happier of the two managers so far.
Cahill berates his fellow defenders after reading Ledley's probing cross to deny Benteke, who was lurking free at the far post.
First sight of Chelsea in attack. Hazard surges beyond two and tries a quick-fire exchange with Costa. The return ball hits a defender and Hennessey is able to gobble up the ricochet.
In contrast to Palace's capital woes, Chelsea have lost just one of their last eight Premier League London derbies (W4 D3 L1).
Zaha with a lovely turn on the right flank. The winger's deep cross is nodded back towards Benteke by Ward, but Chelsea are able to clear.
Chances for Costa to run into acres of space but he times his run poorly while chasing Alonso's pass. Offside. A very high line from Palace though...
It'd be kind to describe it as rather scrappy early doors.
Christian Benteke has scored in four of his last six Premier League appearances against Chelsea, including in his last two versus the Blues.
The fog is lingering in the Selhurst air. No excuse for a misplaced pass mind you, not at this juncture anyhow. Visibility isn't too bad at pitch level.
Benteke chases a ball over the top but Azpilicueta gets across to cover and mop up the early danger.
MORE LONDON LOWS FOR THE EAGLES? Crystal Palace have won only five points in 10 Premier League London derbies since the start of last season (W1 D2 L7); fewer than any other side from the capital in this period.
- 1st Half
KICK OFF! Diego Costa get the contest underway for Chelsea.
GOAL SHY: Crystal Palace have only mustered three goals in seven previous Premier League home games against Chelsea and one of these was a John Terry own goal.
Chelsea will go nine clear with a win this afternoon. Their major rivals aren't in action today but face tough encounters. Liverpool travel to neighbours Everton on Monday night, while Arsenal visit Manchester City on Sunday.
DID YOU KNOW? If Chelsea win this match they will have defeated Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on more occasions than any other team in the Premier League (currently five wins).
VIDEO: Antonio Conte on Chelsea's winning streak.
Alan Pardew: "They are in a perfect moment. The system, they are getting goals at the right times and are seeing games out comfortably. At the moment they look unbeatable. Momentum is with them, but momentum can change very quickly."
VIDEO: Chelsea transfer gossip.
Scott Dann: "They will be coming here on the back of 10 wins and hopefully we can be the team that turns them over and stops that run. That is exactly what we will try and do. We have a great set of fans here who make for an amazing atmosphere so hopefully they can help us get the right result. Chelsea have been playing really well, they are a tough, well-organised team and seem to be going from strength to strength. But every game in this league is difficult and hopefully we can put in more of a performance similar to United, obviously try and look back and see what we could have done better and take the positives into this one."
CONTRASTING FORTUNES: This time last year the Eagles were soaring in sixth spot, a whopping 11 points clear of 16th-placed Chelsea who were struggling badly as defending champions. Since then Pardew's men have taken just 26 points in 35 topflight matches - and we all know about Chelsea's improvement since Antonio Conte's tactical tinkering.
Chelsea also make two changes. The mercurial Eden Hazard is back after missing the midweek win at Sunderland with a knock. As a result Pedro drops to the bench alongside Cesc Fabregas who is replaced by Nemanaja Matic.
Palace recall Jason Puncheon following his one-match ban. He replaces Lee Chung-yong. Joe Ledley is the other change from the last-gasp defeat to Man United in midweek. The Wales international comes in for the injured Mathieu Flamini.
