Tim Fosu-Mensah coming on for United with time almost up. Zlatan also into the book.
There will be four additional minutes here.
- Yellow cardCesc FàbregasChelsea
There won’t be too much added time here. Possibly three minutes. A bad challenge from Fabregas and he'll go into the book.
Loftus-Cheek wriggles in the box. He thinks he has a corner but the goal kick goes United’s way. More time eaten up…
United almost over the line. Chelsea need to score now to have any chance…
FIVE MINUTES REMAINING: United have bossed this today and would deserve this win. Rojo wins another throw for the Reds.

Ibrahimovic preparing to come on for the excellent Rashford.
TEN MINUTES REMAINING: Manchester United have gone 21 Premier League games without defeat (W11, D10). It is the longest current unbeaten run in the five major European leagues.
A good spell at the moment territorially for Chelsea but United defending in numbers. Nothing to show for it.
Not his greatest game...
United being driven back now, giving Chelsea the ball and playing on the counter. Rashford still a huge handful. Now Rojo goes into the book.
Not too much has come off for Hazard today. But the kind of player who needs just one chance.
Herrera goes into the book for a foul on Hazard. Looked a little harsh but probably a cumulative card.
Hazard nips in behind the United defence for once but shoots straight at De Gea.
Getting to the stage now that if Chelsea don’t score in the next ten minutes, this game is United’s.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic looks on from the bench and seems mightily impressed by what he is seeing.
Hazard up top with Costa now. Pedro left and Willian right. They’re seeing a little more of the ball. Rashford drives into the box and does really well to get his shot away. Begovic makes the save.
Chelsea sub: Willian on to replace Matic.
Pedro cuts inside and goes for goal. It clips Carrick and over the bar for a corner. Chelsea preparing another change.
ATTEMPTS: Man Utd 7-3 Chelsea
CLOSE! Carrick plays in Rashford, who hits it first time and it ripples the side netting!
Carrick on for Lingard for United.
Michael Carrick preparing to come on for United, probably for Fellaini. Jose has reacted straight underway, like an F1 team reacting to an opposing pit stop!
Herrera has now left marking Hazard and gone towards Fabregas. Dangerous tactic?
Fabregas playing just in front of Kante and Matic now. He must make an impact and quickly.
- OffVictor MosesChelsea
- OnCesc FàbregasChelsea
Fabregas on for Moses for Chelsea. Chelsea to switch to a back four.
Chelsea giving the ball away far too cheaply still. Most unlike them.
CLOSE! Rashford sets up Lingard and it could easily be three but he sidefoots over the bar. Chelsea all over the place.
Now is the decision for Mourinho. Stick or twist? They’ve got this far with attacking football but will surely shut up shop a little more now.
- GoalAnder HerreraManchester United
GOAL UNITED! It’s a big deflection from Herrera’s effort, fizzed in at goal following the corner after good play from Young. Comes off Zouma’s heel. Big job for Chelsea now!
- Yellow cardGary CahillChelsea
A high foot from Gary Cahill on Marouane Fellaini and he goes into the book.
KEY MAN: Ander Herrera
Some half time stats.
No changes for either side as yet but they will surely be coming soon. Perhaps Willian and Fabregas for Chelsea soon.
Back underway here at Old Trafford and still plenty of football to be played. Remember, United are the draw specialists of the league.
- End of 1st Half
HALF TIME: Manchester United 1 Chelsea 0
The fourth official draws a smile from Jose Mourinho. He knows he’s had a good half.
Just the two minutes of additional time at the end of this half.
An embarrassing slip from Azpilicueta concedes a goal kick just when Chelsea had put together one of their best moves of the game. Nothing going right for them.
CLOSE! Great work from Lingard and Rashford and his cross is headed just over his own bar by Cahill!
Chelsea have lost their pattern and shape. Hazard doesn’t know where to go at the moment. But how often have we said this about Chelsea and then suddenly, something out of nothing.
Costa and Hazard looking to link up but just not working so far. United all over them and know what to expect.
Chants of ‘Argentina! Argentina!’ from the United fans after that clash between Rojo and Costa. Great stuff.
Rojo and Costa clash in the air. They fall to the ground and Costa receives a gentle slap to the face. Nothing in that and good refereeing from Robert Madley.
United looking really hungry today. First to all of the challenges and we haven’t seen this urgency for a while.
Now Herrera chops down Hazard and Chelsea have a free kick in a dangerous area. First good chance for them. Hazard delivers himself but the free kick goes against them for a foul.
That’s great news for United. Over an hour to wind up Costa for a second yellow card.
- Yellow cardDiego CostaChelsea
Now Costa has been booked. He’s gone in slightly late on Pogba. So predictable.
FOULS: Man Utd 4-9 Chelsea
Early signs of Costa getting rattled. He’s complaining and pushing his markers. Yellow card looks to be coming. Still no attempts for Chelsea…
Rashford does brilliantly to keep the ball in play. He gives it to Pogba who tees up Young but he’s rushed into a shot and it’s well wide. United still well on top.
The wing backs have now switched for Chelsea to force United into a rethink. United attacking a lot down the right. Lingard almost in again but flagged just offside.
That really was a sublime pass from Herrera to set up Rashford’s goal. Probably the first time he drifted away from Hazard.
POSSESSION: Man Utd 67%-33% Chelsea
Chelsea looking surprisingly subdued this afternoon. Jose has his tactics spot on. Who doubted him?
United force another dangerous free kick. In it comes from Rashford and it takes a great clearance from Moses under the nose of Fellaini.
Costa goes down after a challenge from Rojo as if taken out by a sniper, Could do with less of that in today’s game. He’s a big lad.
Rashford celebrates putting United ahead.
Chelsea looking nervous at the back. All United so far as Pedro concedes a free kick for a trip on Bailly.
Young flashes a shot across the face of goal and it’s just beyond Rashford otherwise a tap in. All United.
Now Costa does nip past Bailly and gets the benefit of the foul. Does really well there, the Brazilian Spaniard.
Perhaps a tactic for Bailly and Rojo to wind up Costa, try and get him sent off.
Moses’ cross deflected and de Gea has it. Bailly has been shoved to the ground by Costa, who now slaps Rojo’s hand away. He’s awfully tetchy already…
Now Hazard has taken up more of a central position. Herrera may have to change his position in order to stay with him.
Now Pogba almost gets Rashford in. He’s causing Gary Cahill plenty of problems.
All going according to plan now. And United have quite the bench available for later. Big test for Chelsea now. Spurs fans are delighted.
That’s the earliest goal that United have scored in the Premier League this season.
- GoalMarcus RashfordManchester United
GOAL UNITED! Herrera feeds Rashford after United break quickly. Begovic narrows the angle but the striker’s finish is assured, slotting it inside the far post. Jose’s a genius…
Herrera almost a right back at the moment. Rashford takes on a shot early after a mistake from Luiz but it’s well, well wide.
Herrera, remember, was sent off for a second yellow card last time the teams met in the FA Cup. The foul was on Hazard!
Herrera with a proper man to man marking job on Eden Hazard, sticking to him like glue!
We’re hearing that Marcos Alonso pulled out of the warm-up because he was feeling unwell. Touch of food poisoning perhaps? Who knows.
United setting up 4-4-w with Rashford and Lingard up top, Chelsea employing that familiar 3-4-2-1 that has served them so well.
- 1st Half
KICK-OFF! Referee Robert Madley blows the whistle to get us underway here at old Trafford. Tough one to call today. Would Chelsea take a draw against the draw specialists? We’re about to find out!
FIVE MINUTES TO KICK-OFF: The teams are in the tunnel and making their way out onto the pitch. Key changes for both sides today.
BREAKING NEWS! Kurt Zouma comes in as Marcos Alonso hobbles out of the warm-up.
TEN MINUTES TO KICK-OFF: Chelsea are unbeaten in 12 matches against Manchester United in all competitions (W7, D5). United are winless at Old Trafford in the last four Premier League meetings, scoring just one goal.
DRAW SPECIALISTS: Manchester United have gone 21 Premier League games without defeat (W11, D10). It is the longest current unbeaten run in the five major European leagues.
Antonio Conte: "I have zero problems [with Mourinho]. It's only a sporting competition between him and me. There is a game of football. I want to try and win with my team. He wants to try and win with his team. It's normal to be at conflict during the game, but only a sporting conflict."
Jose Mourinho on Chelsea (via BBC): "It's not for no reason that they are top of the league. It's not just because they're fresh but they have individual quality and they have collective quality. They have a certain style of play, they stick to it, they do it very well. For me, it is just a game. One more game. No difference for me."
Here's the reason Zlatan is missing.
In case you missed it...
The Mourinho team selection seems bizarre to say the least and social media is going crazy. Leaving out Zlatan and Mkhitaryan for such a key match seems a bit like leaving out Giggs and Cantona. I’m sure there’s a good reason such as fatigue after the fixture congestion but…
At least Paul Pogba is geared up for today's match.
And here's how Chelsea will take to the field. Looks like only one winner today and that's just shy of an hour before kick-off!
A bit of a surprise as Ashley Young is named captain. Ibrahimovic and Mkhitaryan on the bench with Carrick and Blind also expected by some to start.
Here’s how the hosts will line up for today’s key fixture.
Another former Chelsea player won't be featuring for the rest of the season.
Here's some pre-match team news that we are aware of.
