The Denmark midfielder has been linked with a move to Italian champions Juventus, but Pochettino insists the former Ajax player is happy with life in London.
"He is very happy here and we are happy with him and we will see what happens in the next few weeks,” he said.
"He has two more years of his contract and it is only a question of time before he agrees a new contract.”
Pochettino expects to be without injured goalkeeper Hugo Lloris for a month after was suffered a hamstring problem against Everton last week that forced him off early to be replaced by Michel Vorm, who will continue against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The Spurs manager believes Lloris will return for the start of the Champions League on September 13 or 14.
"I'm confident (he'll be fit to start the competition). It's not a big issue - it's a minor injury," said Pochettino.
"We'll see what happens but we hope he'll be available for the Champions League.
"It's always difficult when your captain is off the pitch But we trust in Michel. I think that he did well during pre-season. He was our first option keeper. He played a lot of friendlies. He's ready to compete.
"He's a keeper that has a lot of experience in the Premier League, in internationals and there's no doubt about his quality."
