Olivier Giroud - 'I was a bit lucky' with scorpion goal

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has admitted that his scorpion goal involved a good degree of luck after he helped his team to a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace.
Giroud finished off a wonderful Arsenal counter-attack in the first half against Palace with an incredible piece of improvisation, leaving the football world stunned.
Speaking to BBC Sport after the game, Giroud said that the goal was definitely his best but he was a bit lucky with the finish.
"It is not difficult to say it is the best one, I was a bit lucky but it was the only thing I could do, the ball was behind me and I tried to hit it with a backheel. Maybe [Henrikh Mkhitaryan's] goal inspired me, it's the only thing you can do in that position. It is nice for me and the team because we start the year with a win.
"We were struggling a bit when we came back from the dressing room so it was nice to finish off the game and keep the ball. We have a few games to come before the very important Chelsea one so we want to keep winning before we go to Stamford Bridge."
Giroud's goal came minutes after he had missed a far easier chance but he followed up his winner against West Brom with the winner on New Year's Day.
Arsenal move back up to third in the table and will face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Tuesday.
