Chelsea may miss out on Alex Sandro, but Andrea Pirlo could be open to a role with the Blues. It's Monday's Paper Round.

Chelsea to miss out on Sandro

We begin with a story from The Star who have quotes from Juventus director Giuseppe Marrotta, who has revealed that the club are going to talk about to renewing Alex Sandro's contract. The Brazilian was a target for Chelsea over the summer, but a new contract could extinguish any hopes of signing the full-back.
Paper Round's view: This is a blow for Chelsea and Antonio Conte, particularly given how public the interest in Sandro was. The club will now have to look elsewhere in order to find competition for Marcos Alonso.

Pirlo open to Blues role

Meanwhile, The Mirror have quotes from Andrea Pirlo on his future. The Italian announced he will retire at the end of the MLS season and he was asked about reports linking him with a reunion with former manager Antonio Conte at Chelsea. Pirlo refused to rule it out saying he would evaluate all options.
Paper Round's view: It's hard to know what role Pirlo would perform at Chelsea, set-piece coach? Fashion coach? Regardless he would certainly be a good influence for some of the club's younger midfielders given that no role has been found for Frank Lampard.

Fellaini out for three weeks

Back in The Star where it is reported that Marouane Fellaini will miss at least three weeks with knee ligament damage suffered on international duty. He will miss games against Liverpool and Spurs amongst others.
Paper Round's view: This is slightly longer than the estimate given by Belgium, who said Fellaini would only miss a couple of weeks, but it's already a big blow to have him missing for the Liverpool game. A big chance for Ander Herrera to stake his claim.

Wenger: Wilshere has to be healthy

We end with quotes from Arsene Wenger, who has warned Jack Wilshere that he will not be 'back' until he can go a sustained period of time without injury.
Paper Round's view: Wilshere's comments felt premature and Wenger would appear to be endorsing that view. However there is clearly a space for Wilshere if he can prove his fitness.
