Mourinho wants to replace Mkhitaryan with Ozil

We start with a back-page story from The Mirror who report that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho wants to sell Henrikh Mkhitaryan and replace him with Mesut Ozil. Mkhitaryan has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford and isn't even making match-day squads at the moment. United are reportedly growing increasingly confident that Ozil will sign for them when his contract with Arsenal expires.
Paper Round's view: Mkhitaryan is an excellent footballer but it is evident that Mourinho doesn't fancy him. If United can get Ozil in and end up making a profit by selling Mkhitaryan that's excellent business indeed.

Luiz holds Chelsea talks with Bayern interest

Moving on we've got an exclusive from The Express who report that Bayern Munich have joined Manchester United and Real Madrid in expressing interest in David Luiz. The Brazilian met with Antonio Conte this week according to the report as he wants more regular first-team football. The talks went well and Luiz could return to the starting XI this weekend.
Paper Round's view: Antonio Conte has clearly made his point but he would have to accept that his strongest team has Luiz in it. If this situation can be resolved it could be a big boost for Chelsea moving forward.

City want Van Dijk

On to The Times who report that Manchester City's first-choice transfer target in January will be Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk. The Dutchman could cost £70million but City need a defensive addition with Vincent Kompany and John Stones suffering injuries.
Paper Round's view: Stones has been excellent this season but Kompany sadly cannot be relied upon any more to play regularly. Looking to the future Van Dijk would appear to be the perfect partner to Stones.

Stoke block Berahino loan

Finally, in The Telegraph, It is reported that Saido Berahino has held talks with the Stoke City hierarchy due to his frustration over a lack of playing time. However, the club have told him he will not be leaving and will be getting chances.
Paper Round's view: It's worth reiterating at this point that Berahino still hasn't scored for Stoke. If they don't play him regularly they have to move him on so he can find regular football.
