Guardiola targets Galactico signings Toni Kroos and Luis Suarez

Pep Guardiola has reportedly targeted Toni Kroos and Luis Suarez, according to the Mirror. The report says that City are under pressure after Zlatan Ibrahimovic's switch to Manchester United to snare a big fish in the transfer window. A figure of £75 million would trigger Kroos' release clause, as the player is very keen to play in the Premier League. Suarez would reportedly cost around £85m, but would be difficult to uproot due to his family settling in Spain.
Paper Round's view: It is very wishful thinking to think that Barcelona would allow Suarez to walk out, but Toni Kroos could present an opportunity if City can reach Madrid's price tag. Considering the fight Guardiola has on his hands to get Thiago Alcantara from Bayern, Kroos is a very strong alternative.

Hugo Lloris targeted by Real Madrid

Real Madrid have targeted Hugo Lloris, according to the Mirror. The £35 million rated goalkeeper has been earmarked as one of many players wanted at the Bernabeu in the summer, as Spurs are willing to fight to keep him. Lloris has three years left on his contract, with the club viewing him as vital to their plans. Pochettino wants to offer the Frenchman another extension to protect his status at White Hart Lane.

Paper Round's view: Spurs will be trying to hold on to Lloris as he is one of the key players in Tottenham's climb up the Premier League table. £35 million is a very conservative estimate, as the club would be pushing for a higher figure. He is contracted for the next three years.

Tottenham willing to bid £38 million for Inter's Mauro Icardi

Tottenham are attempting to sign Mauro Icardi from Inter Milan, according to the Sun. The report says that Spurs have sent representatives to Milan to discuss a move during the next week, as the club seeks to beat out rivals Arsenal to his signature. They are willing to pay as much as £38 million to get the move done, as the Argentinean international has turned many heads with his strong season in Serie A.

Paper Round's view: Mauro Icardi, despite being very talented and having much room for extra improvement on top of that, could be a bit of an unknown quantity in the Premier League. His 47 goals in 88 games is an excellent return at Inter, but it's hard to promise he'll perform to the same standard in a much more difficult league.

Robin Van Persie offered to Crystal Palace and West Ham

Robin Van Persie could make a return to the Premier League, according to the Sun. The report says the striker has been offered to both Crystal Palace and West Ham, as he seeks a return to London with his family after a season in Turkey. As both West Ham and Palace have missed out on their striker targets, they could make a bid for the player as the Turkish club have admitted they are expecting bids.

Paper Round's view: Van Persie found the back of the net 20 times in Turkey, so he is still serviceable. The move has likely come about due to reported internal problems with Fenerbahce, so both Palace and West Ham have the opportunity to sign someone who may still has a lot to offer.
