Joao Mario set to snub Chelsea for Inter

Portugal star Joao Mario is set to snub Chelsea and head to Inter Milan, according to the Sun. The report says that the 23-year-old will head to Serie A instead of Stamford Bridge, as he's agreed to a five-year deal with Inter. Sporting Lisbon have accepted Inter's bid of £29 million, and the deal is expected to be finalised with the midfielder set to settle for a weekly wage of £29,000.
Paper Round's view: Not a huge blow for Chelsea, but they'd want to hope negotiations with N'Golo Kante and Leicester go off without a hitch. Considering Radja Nainggolan appears to be staying at Roma, waiting any longer in the window to secure targets puts the club at risk of paying a premium for players.

Juventus closing in player swap for Higuain

Juventus have emerged in the race for Gonzalo Higuain, according to the Daily Mail. The report says the Italian giants are set to launch a bid and player swap for Higuain, which could steal the striker out from the clutches of Arsene Wenger and Arsenal. Juventus would pay £58.2 million, and would make up the rest of Higuain's release clause by trading midfielders Roberto Pereyra and Rolando Mandragora to Napoli. Napoli are adamant they do not want to sell, but will let the player leave if a club can meet the £78.2 million release clause.

Paper Round's view: Arsene Wenger missing out here would be disastrous, considering all the improvements that other clubs are making to their squads over the off-season. A failure to add to their squad could not only cost the club a Champions League place, but also Wenger his job.

Sissoko targeted by Borussia Dortmund

Moussa Sissoko has been targeted by Borussia Dortmund, according to the Sun. The report says that the Newcastle winger is receiving interest from a range of clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool. Sissoko is set to be a replacement for Manchester United Henrikh Mkhitaryan who left the club to join Manchester United, with Newcastle setting a £35 million price tag for the wide player.

Paper Round's view: The price maybe steep, but the stack of exits at Dortmund this season means the club has a stack of funds to play with. The other Premier League clubs shouldn't feel too bad about missing out on this one - while Sissoko starred for France at the Euros, he struggled for form for much of last season as Newcastle were relegated.

United's Varela interest from Eintracht Frankfurt

Manchester United defender Guillermo Varela has been targeted by Eintracht Frankfurt, according to the Daily Mail. The report says the player has been targeted for a loan deal by the Bundesliga club, with an option to buy later on. The 23-year-old Uruguayan joined United in 2013, but has struggled to get on the team sheet since and appears to be on his way out of the club.

Paper Round's view: This would be an incredible signing for Frankfurt, nabbing a player that's usually well above their pay-grade. Valera hasn't kicked on like people thought he would, but still has a heap of potential. This would represent a smart investment by the Bundesliga minnows.
