The CIES Football Observatory have released their latest figures which values Spurs’ squad at an impressive 799 million euros – a total which not only betters their domestic rivals, but everyone in Europe except Barcelona (€1083.3 million) and Real Madrid (€936.9m).
Manchester United are fourth in the European rankings with a squad worth of €726.7m, with Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool all in the top 10.
But it’s the position of Spurs, currently second in the Premier League table, which will spark most attention, with their entire starting XI in the 4-0 demolition of West Bromwich Albion rated at €20m or more.
On Monday, the same study revealed that Harry Kane and Dele Alli were amongst the top 10 most valuable players in Europe, worth €139.2m and €110.5m respectively.

Tottenham’s position at the top of the pile actually makes a lot of sense, given they have a young talented team, the majority of whom are tied down to long-term contracts.
However, before their fans get too carried away, some of the values will raise a few eyebrows. Eric Dier is valued at €69.5m, while Vincent Janssen – without a Premier League goal this season – has a €33.1m bounty. That’s not to question the figures, only that it’s worth remembering it’s all hypothetical. There’s a big difference between topping a study and winning the Premier League.
