Bundesliga side Schalke have signed Nabil Bentaleb from Tottenham Hotspur on loan with a view to a permanent move.
The 21-year-old has been frozen out of the first team under Mauricio Pochettino and he has been heavily linked with a move to the Bundesliga side for some time now.
Speaking at a press conference before the new German season starts Heidel confirmed that all they needed was for the transfer documents to be ratified.
"Nabil Bentaleb passed his medical here last Thursday then he returned to Tottenham.
"We have an agreement with Spurs and he will probably participate in training this afternoon, we are just waiting to sort the final paperwork to confirm the deal.
"Nabil is 100% fit but we need to be patient to give him a little time to integrate into the team."
During the conference Heidel also spoke about Benjamin Stambouli and Son Heung-min, two players who have also been linked with the club.
Heidel said that Stambouli would also be arriving, pointing out how he roomed with Bentaleb when he was at Spurs but that they weren't interested in Son.
"Stambouli has just had his medical and we will wait for the results but we are positive that everything will be fine.
"Our newbies already know each well from sharing a room at Tottenham.
"Son Heung-min is an outstanding footballer, we know him well from his time with HSV and Leverkusen but he has nothing to do with us."
