Robins happy with double swoop

Scunthorpe boss Mark Robins has expressed his delight at the double loan capture of Alex Davey and Richard Brindley earlier this week.

Both have signed until the start of January with centre-back Davey arriving from Chelsea and right-back Brindley joining from Rotherham.

"Alex is a youngster who is desperate to play in games that aren't Under-21 matches," Robins told the official club website.

"He is a good athlete. He has decent technical ability and needs games."

Referring to Brindley, Robins added: "It's something that we've been looking at for three weeks and it's taken a little bit of time to get that over the line.

"He's here with us and raring to go."
