Sam Allardyce has been filmed on camera being critical of predecessor Roy Hodgson.
Allardyce, who succeeded Hodgson as England manager after a dismal campaign at Euro 2016 was filmed up undercover reporters from the Telegraph mocking Hodgson’s speech impediment.
The former Sunderland manager had met the reporters under the belief that they represented a Far East firm that wanted to buy football players.
“The players let him down in the end,” Allardyce said referring to England’s performance in France over the summer.
“I think maybe he was too indecisive. Cast a bit of an anxiety over to the players maybe. If that ever happened to me as a manager, I’d be absolutely gutted. It would be my fault,” he added as his appraisal of the England’s summer performance continued.
The reporters then asked whether Hodgson had any outside earnings, to which Allardyce replied he “hasn’t the personality for it.”
“No, he wouldn’t want to, he’d send them all to sleep, Roy. Woy. He hasn’t got the personality for it,” said Allardyce.
