Rosanero goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino declared today he’d personally pick the 2006 World Cup winner up from the airport if he were to arrive, and it seems he may have to make good on that claim.
Sky reports that Giardino’s entourage will meet the Sicilian club tomorrow, in order to try and establish the basis of a deal.
But TuttoPalermo.net have now suggested that the 33-year-old could arrive in Sicily later today after accepting a move to the club from Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande.
Palermo are seeking attacking reinforcements after losing Paulo Dybala to Juventus earlier this summer.
Palermo would have to pay a transfer fee to his current club, Guangzhou, meaning the transfer would not be cheap.
However, with 178 goals in Serie A, Giardino is a proven top-flight goalscorer, something the Rosanero are in need of with the departure of Dybala.
