Bologna have reportedly completed the signing of Colombian international Juan Fernando Quintero from Porto.
The attacking midfielder scored for his country in last summer’s World Cup, and arrived in Portugal from Pescara in 2013.
According to Sky, the 22-year-old has joined the newly-promoted Rossoblu on a season-long loan, with the option of making the move permanent for a fee of €15m.
Quintero made 20 League appearances for Porto last season, scoring twice and providing one assist.
The move represents something of a coup for Bologna, with the midfielder considered one of the hottest prospects in South American football.
OUR VIEW
What a coup indeed it is if Bologna can complete this deal. Quintero, make no bones about it, is one of the brightest prospects in world football. Quintero may have not performed as expected at Porto after his move from Pescara in 2013, but the very fact that Porto wrote a 40 million euro release clause into that contract says much about the Colombian’s potential. A step down to Bologna could be the catalyst to kick start his career. Furthermore, he already has Serie A experience so he should in theory settle relatively quickly.
