Edin Dzeko's move from Manchester City to AS Roma for a believed fee of around £14 million is 'as good as done', several news sources are reporting.

City were asking for €28m (£20m) for the 29-year-old striker, but after a summer full of negotiations between the two sides it appears a compromise has been reached.
It's widely reported that Dzeko has already given the all-clear to the transfer, agreeing personal terms.
The debate was over how to structure the payment, but that appears to have been resolved and we are down to the details.
If it is indeed €20m (£14m), then Manchester City seemingly allowed a discount to get the cash quickly rather than spread out over a series of instalments.
An announcement is imminent, as Dzeko agreed personal terms with Roma some time ago on a five-year contract worth €4.5m per season.
He is expected to fly in for a medical within the next few days.
OUR VIEW
Dzeko never did manage to do quite enough to command star billing in a star-studded Man City side, but was a strong presence and effective goalscorer over the years, even in a squad rotation. He developed a bit of a reputation as a ‘closer’ (a player to close out games) for City – though he wasn’t as spectacular to watch as a David Silva or quite as prolific as a Sergio Aguero, the goals he scored were often crucial ones and his general play was more beneficial to helping City’s questionable defence hold onto leads than that of more dynamic forwards. His move to Roma may come with a lot of hype after the summer-long negotiations, but it’s doubtful he’ll single-handedly win them the Scudetto. However, he should definitely add value to their side and could be one part of a strong summer of business for the Italian side.

THE VIEW FROM ITALY
Eurosport.it's Mattia Fontana suggests Roma fans will be delighted with the reduced fee for Dzeko, but suggests it could be an interesting battle between he and Roma icon Francesco Totti for one spot in the starting XI:
"We must consider how old Totti is (39) and Rudi Garcia’s tactics. The manager loves to play with a 4-3-3 formation and so it’s difficult to think that Totti and Dzeko will both be used as starters. Dzeko should be the striker Roma was searching for and Totti his first replacement, as the club transitions away from their star.
"At the moment, is difficult to see Garcia playing with a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-1-2 formation (but maybe, with Mohamed Salah and Dzeko upfront…) that could allow Totti and Dzeko to play alongside each other. Then, I would also to add a personal doubt about Roma’s strategy to always be looking for a “real striker”. They failed with Mattia Destro and they failed with Seydou Doumbia (ok, they are not even close to Dzeko, I know).
"Now it’s time to see if Garcia’s tactics are made for a centre-forward or not. I honestly doubt it a bit.
"Everyone was waiting for him and Salah. Dzeko will be the star signing. But don’t forget the “Totti factor”. Since he began playing as a false nine (2005-06), he caused many troubles to good strikers like Vincenzo Montella, Julio Baptista, Luca Toni, Dani Osvaldo, Fabio Borini, Marco Borriello and Destro… They couldn’t stay in Rome for more than a season or two.
"Dzeko is the best one, but if he will not be able to settle in a short while, he will have troubles too…"
