The Premier League and the Champions League are both witnessing upsets this year as the favourites are losing to two outsiders.
In an interview primarily concerned with Atletico's Simeone, Capello also discussed his fellow Italian Ranieri.
“Atletico have greater quality, but Leicester impressed me because they're so hungry for victory and so ferocious in pursuing their objectives,” Capello told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Ranier is immense. He's creating a masterpiece.
“I'm happy for him. He's a well-studied Coach and a good man. He always kept a low profile and was respectful of his colleagues. He went around the world and kept his balance.”

The 69-year-old was asked who the Italian Coach who most resembled Simone was, and what his thoughts were on the return leg of the Champions League.
“There's no Italian Simeone, but [Fabrizio] Castori worked really well at Carpi. He has a Serie B team, but thanks to him they managed to withstand the shock of playing in Serie A.
“Real Madrid will have a tough time against City. In Manchester they tried to defend themselves, in order to limit the problems of [Cristiano] Ronaldo's absence and the physical trouble of [Karim] Benzema.
“Bayern can undo the 0-1. They'll have [Thomas] Muller from the outset. The Germans have an extra tank of fuel when they play at home, but Atletico die hard.”
