Fiorentina have released an official statement confirming they are considering legal action against Mohamed Salah.
Following the announcement that the player had vetoed a return to Artemio Franchi next year, a bitter war of words has erupted, with the player’s agent claiming the Viola knew of the decision in February.
“With regard to the events of recent days concerning Mohamed Salah, ACF Fiorentina, with the goal of providing maximum transparency to it’s supporters, points out the following,” a statement on the club’s website began.
“The player, through his representative, rejected the offer of an improvement in his contract, and has indeed expressed a desire to move to another club. He has also informed us that he does not intend to respond to our request for him to report back for pre-season training.
"As a result of the above, we have placed the matter in the hands of our lawyers so that they may assess all possible courses of action in order to protect the club's rights."
