A meeting took place between directors from the two clubs in Milan on Wednesday, with Spanish media reporting that an agreement had been reached for the Frenchman not to be sold this summer.
According to both Diario Sport and Mundo Deportivo, the Italian champions agreed to let their prized asset head to Camp Nou at the end of the 2015/16 campaign.
However, speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport after the meeting, Marotta revealed that the Blaugrana had indeed made a bid.
“Yes, we received an offer of €80m,” Marotta revealed.
“But I can confirm that we will not sell Pogba.”

Pogba will leave Juventus, it is just a case of when and for how much.
Barcelona appear to be in pole position to secure the Frenchman’s services, which would suggest that he may stay in Turin until next summer. Although Barca’s transfer ban ends in January, it seems unlikely that Pogba would make the switch in January – not only would he likely be cup tied but the benefit a full pre-season has on a player’s acclimatisation to a new club cannot be underestimated.
Juventus also seem intent on holding out for a world-record fee, which is fair enough considering Pogba’s age and his potential.
