Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa completes permanent switch to Roma

French defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa has sealed a permanent move to Roma from Newcastle, the Premier League club have announced.

The France international initially joined the Italian giants on loan in September 2014 having fallen down the pecking order at St James’ Park.

“Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa has completed a transfer to AS Roma after meeting a contractual condition contained in the loan agreement between the clubs,” read a statement on the Newcastle website.

Yanga-Mbiwa joined Newcastle from Montpellier in January 2013 and made 46 appearances in all competitions for the north-east club.
