The controversial striker suddenly emerged as a target late last night and the story has developed incredibly quickly.
“Some loves never die and we are romantic,” smiled CEO Adriano Galliani when asked whether Balo could return.
“There are negotiations with Liverpool for a loan, but we have not reached an agreement on wages.
“We want Balo because we are convinced this lad realises that this is absolutely his last chance. I hope he understands that.”
According to Sky Sport Italia, SuperMario will undergo a medical tomorrow and complete the loan move with a possible option to buy.
He doesn’t even need to fly in, as Balotelli already met with Milan head coach Sinisa Mihajlovic in Tuscany on Saturday.
This evening Milan face Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
It’s a remarkable turnaround considering Milan only sold Balotelli to Liverpool a year ago for €18m.
In order to get him off the books, the Reds are even prepared to pay half his wages while he’s at San Siro.
Should Balotelli make a remarkable return to the San Siro, Milan will give Alessandro Matri the all-clear to join Lazio.

OUR VIEW

Balotelli looked content in the tunnel at the Etihad last week after a comfortable victory, only he was at former club Manchester City, not his current employer.
The Italian maverick, famed for the endless tales he is yet to tell his grandchildren, would surely be even happier playing football as opposed to watching his former teammates.
Balotelli will ensure entertainment, and goals hopefully, too. Balo notched a cool 26 in 37 appearances for the Rossoneri in what feels like a previous life.
