Mattia Destro has decided to move to AC Milan from Roma.
AC Milan's official TV channel broadcast the news on Thursday morning after weeks of speculation.
And Destro himself later confirmed the news on his Facebook page.
"Thank you Roma, I was a kid and you made me grow up,” Destro wrote.
"Now to Milanello for a new challenge, convinced and determined. I’m already counting down to San Siro!”
The Rossoneri had already agreed a deal with Roma to sign the forward on an initial loan deal.
Destro had been unsure over accepting a loan deal, which could see him return to Stadio Olimpico in the summer, but has apparently decided to make the move.
It’s thought that Milan’s offer includes a right to redeem Destro in the summer, rather than an obligation, and the player would prefer not to have to return to Rome and start trying to find a new team from scratch.
The newspaper reports that this is the only thing holding up the deal, with the Italian international having agreed to a contract with the Diavolo.
The contract is thought to be worth €2.5m per season, plus bonuses, and will run until 2020.
