The Giallorossi needed a vote to go their way to ensure it was considered “a project of public interest for the City of Rome.”
That vote passed after a lengthy meeting today. “Congratulations to all Romans on this historic day,” said President James Pallotta.
“We all look forward to playing in Roma’s new stadium.”
The investment will be worth €1.2bn and the privately finances Stadio della Roma can create at least 3,000 jobs during the construction phase and at least that many during the on-going operations of the complex.
“We thank Mayor Marino and the entire administration of the city of Rome,” added CEO Mark Pannes.
“We fully embrace this opportunity and pledge our complete and on-going commitment to bring this very special project to life.”
There is another approval step with the Regione Lazio.
