Sampdoria unveiled their new strip for 2015-16, including a microchip that plays a chant from the squad encouraging fans.

The bizarre new gadget will be on a limited number of jerseys sold to the supporters.

“It is the first shirt to be technologically modified to encourage the fans when they need it,” explained the Joma statement.

“As the fans always encourage the supporters on every occasion, it’s only right that the team also encourages its fans in the most difficult moments.”

By pressing the club badge, a microchip will play a recording of a chant made by the squad at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Each shirt also has a QR code that can be scanned with a smartphone to provide exclusive multimedia content.
