It’s reported that Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has agreed in principle to move to Inter this summer.
The Ivorian is known to be a target for the Nerazzurri, with coach Roberto Mancini keen to link up with the 31-year-old, who he managed at Manchester City.
Now Mediaset is reporting that the former Barcelona man has accepted an offer from the Beneamata worth around €5m (£3.7m) per season.
However, that offer presented to the player’s agent Dimitri Seluk could be worth €8m (£5.9m) per season for Toure if he achieves certain performance-related bonuses.
The news outlet indicates that the only remaining barrier to a deal is convincing Manchester City to sell.
While the English side would probably not be averse to letting the player go, it is the transfer fee which could prove a sticking point.
Mediaset believes Inter will offer €8m up-front, with extra fees based on the club reaching the Champions League or winning trophies.
OUR VIEW
Toure was Mancini’s go to man at Manchester City – if City were struggling then it would be Toure that Mancini would look to inject some impetus. He has had a sluggish start during his second spell in charge of Inter Milan, and it appears once again he has turned to Toure. For City’s part, they would probably be happy to get an aging Toure off their books, as it would be fair to say that he has not been the same player since his infamous birthday cake rant.
