Jeremy Menez shines in controversial Milan contest
Updated 21/03/2015 at 21:49 GMT
Jeremy Menez scored twice as AC Milan defeated Cagliari in Serie A.
The France forward struck after 21 minutes and then netted a penalty after 78 minutes, which was the game’s big moment of controversy.
In front of a much-reduced home support, with Milan fans on strike due to the club’s situation, Luca Ceppitelli made contact with Alessio Cerci outside the box, with the referee awarding a spot-kick.
Another remarkable moment saw Philippe Mexes strike a brilliant volley, while Cagliari’s return came via Diego Farias.
The win moves Milan up to seventh in the table, while Cagliari remain in 18th.
In the day's other game, Chievo beat Palermo 1-0 at home.
