Internazionale and AC Milan played out a disappointing derby goalless draw that does neither team any favours in their quest for European football.
Milan were fortunate to see a Philippe Mexes own goal ruled out for a foul in the build-up and although Inter had enough chances to win, the match ended in a stalemate that sees Milan stay ninth and Inter tenth in the table.
Neither side has managed to score more than a single goal in the last five Serie A Milan derbies.
KEY MOMENTS
10’ – GOOD SAVE LOPEZ: Hernanes tries his luck from distance and the Milan keeper parries it out of the top corner.
49’ – GOAL RULED OUT: Palacio has it in the back of the net from Icardi’s cross but the flag is up for offside.
63’ – PENALTY SHOUT: Hernanes shoots wide from Palacio’s cross but on closer inspection it looks like it took the slightest deflection off Antonelli’s hand.
72’ – GOAL RULED OUT: A howler from Mexes, who looks like he’s deflected Hernanes’ cross past Lopez. But it’s ruled out correctly after Palacio fouls Antonelli before the cross comes in.
90’ – ICARDI CLOSE: great skill to control and shoot in the box but another Inter chance goes just wide.

Did Milan concede a penalty? Inter players surrounded the referee after a shot from Hernanes appeared to take the slightest deflection off Antonelli’s hand in the box before going wide. Would have been harsh though.
