Rather than commit to working under new coach Sinisa Mihajlovic, his agent and brother Manuel El Shaarawy has been busy telling media outlets that his client is keeping his options open.
Mihajlovic is set to replace Filippo Inzaghi as coach. El Shaarawy has been plauged by injuries in recent times. He played only 18 games for Milan last season in Serie A scoring three goals.
"He’s happy at Milan,” said Manuel El Shaarawy on Sky Sport Italia.
"Let’s see what happens with the team this summer, the transfer campaign seems a bit different from recent years.
"We can’t rule anything out.
"There were several offers, both in January and now in the summer, offers which we looked at. There have been several teams interested, Stephan is a player who lots of teams like."

El Shaarawy is only 22, and has been linked with a move to Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United. Would any of those three clubs be willing to take a risk on a player who has been hampered by injury? The Italy forward may well have to prove himself all over again next term before he can realise his ambition of joining one of England's loftier clubs.
