Juventus drew 0-0 with Inter Milan in the Derby d'Italia as their awful season continued in Serie A.
There were four bookings in the first 16 minutes before the game settled down and Inter dominated with Marcelo Brozovic's effort tipped onto the woodwork by a wonder save from Gianluigi Buffon.
The second half was a similar affair with few chances, the best of which fell to Sami Khedira but the former Real Madrid midfielder’s low shot from close range struck the post.
It means Roberto Mancini’s side are a point behind league leaders Fiorentina, who lost 2-1 to Napoli, while the reigning Serie A champions are nine points behind the Viola.

KEY MOMENTS

4’ – CUADRADO CHANCE! Good chance for Cuadrado from a tight angle as he forces Handanovic into a good save at his near post after collecting Morata's pass. The Colombian could have struck the ball first time.
26’ – JOVETIC SHOT: Chiellini with a fantastic last-ditch tackle to block the shot of Jovetic as Buffon came racing off his line.
29’ – BUFFON SAVE! What a save by Buffon to get his fingertips to Brozovic's ambitious curling effort from a tight angle which strikes the woodwork.
47’ – CUADRADO EFFORT: A slick move involving Zaza and Morata with the Spaniard laying the ball to Cuadrado whose shot from a tight angle goes into the side netting after Handanovic does enough to block the effort.
59’ – BUFFON SAVE: Jovetic's left-footed first-time effort is well saved by the veteran Buffon, there was some swerve on that shot.
69’ – WOODWORK! Juve hit the post! Morata tees up Khedira from eight yards out and his side-footed effort hits the post with Handanovic rooted to the spot.

KEY STATS

Inter last won at home against Juventus in 2010 when Jose Mourinho was in charge.
Juventus had six players booked, three in each half.
This was only the second 0-0 draw in Serie A so far this season.

TALKING POINT

Can Max Allegri’s side still retain the title? The Bianconeri were under more pressure to win this game to claw back the deficit but were unable to break down Inter. Juve languish in 14th place and have lost as many games now as they did in the whole of last season. What they have in their favour is there are no runaway leaders with just a point separating Fiorentina, Roma and Inter.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus): The 37-year-old underlined his class with a world class effort to keep out Marcelo Brozovic’s effort before denying Stevan Jovetic in the second half. Clean sheets have been hard to come by for the Serie A champions this season but the shot-stopper was back to his best against Inter.
