Rolando Maran rues Chievo draw, Udinese pick up points against Bologna

Rolando Maran felt Chievo deserved to beat Genoa and has “never seen” Valter Birsa hit a penalty like the one he missed, he said on Monday night after his side saw out a goalless draw in Italy's Serie A.

The Flying Donkeys drew 0-0 with the Grifone tonight, with Birsa blazing a spot kick over the bar in the first half.
“I think we had the better chances in the match, including the penalty,” Maran pointed out after the match.
“It’s a pity we didn’t win, because we played the match in the right way. If there was a team which deserved to win tonight then it was us.
“Birsa? I’ve never seen him kick a penalty like that, we’ll have to ask him why he changed his technique. It happens, we’re disappointed but we go on.
“My attackers were unlucky today, with [Riccardo] Meggiorini hitting the crossbar. We created chances to win, but unfortunately we couldn’t turn them into goals.”
Meanwhile Udinese took home three points after a last-gasp decider by Danilo who scored in the 90th minute.
