Sporting Lisbon winger Diogo Salomao linked with Sheffield Wednesday

The 26-year-old, who spent last season on loan at La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna and made seven appearances, is not wanted by the Portuguese club, despite having 12 months left on his deal, and Hillsborough has been touted as his next destination.

Wednesday already have a strong Portuguese contingent in their squad with manager Carlos Carvalhal bringing countrymen Marco Matias, Filipe Melo and Lucas Joao to South Yorkshire.
