Having been given a bye for the first round, Stevenage leave behind four straight league defeats to focus on their second-round tie with their fellow Sky Bet League Two strugglers and Sheringham will want to give his best players a chance to impress.
Although goalkeeper Jesse Joronen is away on international duty with Finland, Sheringham was unequivocal when asked whether he has planning on playing his strongest side
"Without doubt. I need to win this game as a manager and I think we need to win this game as a football club and for the players to get back to winning ways," he said.
Defender Justin Hoyte could make his Dagenham debut at Broadhall Way after the new signing was fit enough for a place on the bench in Saturday's defeat to Mansfield.
The 30-year-old has not played since being released by Millwall at the end of last season but penned a deal with Dagenham last week and will be hoping to get a run out in the cup.
Daggers boss Wayne Burnett made five changes for the previous round as they won 2-0 at Cambridge and, given they have not won in the league since September 5, he could again rotate.
That means the likes of Jamie Cureton, Nyron Nosworthy, Nicholas Hamalainen and Christian Doidge will all be hoping to get a start.
