Tony Mowbray praised his Coventry side's intensity as they put their promotion push back on track with a crushing win over Bury.
The Sky Blues had not won in five games but they rediscovered their form in front of goal by smashing six past Bury, who looked down and out after 16 minutes.
Manager Tony Mowbray said: "The talking had to stop.
"I could sense a real urgency about the team when we met before the game and a sense of responsibility that we had to get back on our horse and start riding fast again. They did exactly that.
"It's a great result. Confidence is a massive thing in football and after a few defeats the messages you give in training don't stick quite as much.
"I truly believe it's about footballers being in the right positions and doing their jobs but we have to keep the work going and look forward to the next game.
"I thought Bury had come to block it up when I saw their line-up but I could sense our adrenaline and I could sense our intensity before the game to go and perform, and that's what we did.
"It's important that goals come from everywhere and we had a few out there today."
Coventry went ahead in the fourth minute when Chris Stokes volleyed in Joe Cole's corner and they were two up eight minutes later.
Cole was the supplier again, this time sending in a free-kick for on-loan defender Baily Cargill to score from close range.
It got even better 16 minutes in when James Maddison picked up the ball in midfield, ran at Bury and shot past Ian Lawlor from the edge of the area.
The visitors had a couple of chances to pull a goal back but when John Fleck was allowed time and space to score from distance two minutes before half-time, the game was as good as over.
Leon Clarke spurned a chance at the start of the second half before Adam Armstrong scored two in three minutes to put Coventry in dreamland.
He slotted home after racing onto Cole's pass in the 68th minute and then did the same again a couple of minutes later after Fleck's pass.
Bury boss David Flitcroft blasted his side.
He said: "The first thing is to apologise for the performance and the unacceptable ways we conceded.
"It was a whirlwind in the first 15 minutes as we conceded from two set-pieces and that was really disappointing.
"We were on the back foot after that and the way we represented ourselves here today is not the way I want any Bury team to represent the supporters, the board or this football club.
"We have to take responsibility as a group and it won't happen again. It can't happen again.
"It's not a disappointment, it's a feeling of emptiness that I've got inside but I will come out fighting. I will make sure that this team comes out fighting.
"This has to be fixed with the players we've got at the minute. If I can bring in players and add to the squad, that's what I'll do because I think that's what the squad needs."
