Bastian Schweinsteiger told by Mourniho he won't play for United

Bastian Schweinsteiger has been told by Jose Mourinho he's not needed, according to the Daily Mail. The report says that Schweinsteiger according to Mourinho can stay at Old Trafford, but won't be played as the new manager would rather promote younger players into his small squad. German World Cup winner is currently training with the reserves despite his £160,000 a week contract, which still has two years before it expires.
Paper Round's view: Sad that a modern champion is treated in this way, but it's a cruel business. His huge wages will make it difficult for him to move clubs, with his only rescue perhaps coming from a European giant or an MLS/China Super League club who's willing to get in the player to continue to build the profile of the game in the US and China.

Tottenham make enquiries for Eliaquim Mangala

Tottenham are showing interest in Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala, according to the Sun. Despite no bid being put in and nothing being agreed to, Mangala has also been linked to a loan move to Napoli, suggesting City might be willing to move on the player. The French international joined City from Porto in 2014 for £32 million and despite a blistering debut against Chelsea, has failed to live up to the hype of his price tag.

Paper Round's view: Despite Mangala's clear deficiencies as a player, it's strong depth for Tottenham. City failed to do their research when purchasing Mangala and fell into the hype of a promising continental centre back impressing in a league of lower quality. Mangala would make a fantastic addition to Spurs in terms of depth, giving the club an opportunity to get more out of their squad with Champions League fixtures.

West Ham want Wilfried Bony loan deal

West Ham are keen on Wilfried Bony, according to the Mirror. The report says that Slaven Bilic's side want more offensive firepower in the squad, after the club failed to defeat Astra Guirgiu in the Europa League mid-week. As Enner Valencia is on the outer, Jonathan Calleri has been unconvincing and Andy Carroll and Andre Ayew are both injured, the Hammers want more options in attack. Despite signing Simone Zaza on a loan and potential permanent deal from Juventus, the London club are convinced they must add to their armoury to make it to European football.

Paper Round's view: Despite being a few weeks too late, West Ham looking for goals shows Bilic is a manager that is far from content. Zaza and Bony in the short-term will more than cover for the injured Andy Carroll, as other signings like Calleri and Ayew when fit and firing will help to produce creativity across the final third.

Klopp denies Jordan Henderson is on the move

Jurgen Klopp has denied reports that Jordan Henderson is on the outer at Liverpool, according to the Mirror. The report claims that there were links between Henderson and Spurs, with Klopp favouring the injured Emre Can in the defensive midfield role. After coming back from an injury riddle season and claims that Klopp was unhappy with his form and fitness, meant that perhaps the Reds boss would sell the midfielder, but Klopp is dismissing that speculation by denying the player is leaving.

Paper Round's view: Despite limitations on his passing, Henderson's work rate and smarts on the pitch are severely underrated. As one of the core players behind Liverpool's title charge under previous manager Brendan Rodgers, many have short memories about what his best football can produce. Reds fans have to stay calm, as he is a key cog in their rebirth going forward.
