Nasri was pictured with Rojiblancos director of football Monchi on Tuesday, having arrived in Spain to seal a switch to the Europa League winners.
The 29-year-old has been at Etihad Stadium since 2011 but has been told he is surplus to requirements by new manager Pep Guardiola.
The midfielder has moved temporarily to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, where he is viewed as a direct replacement for the outgoing Yevhen Konoplyanka.
According to Spanish daily Marca, the deal does not include a clause allowing Sevilla to sign the player permanently for a fixed price at a later date.

Update: Mangala on the move

Defender Mangala is heading to Spain as well, with a loan move to Valencia being confirmed.
Mangala has made unsteady progress at City ever since his £42m move form Porto in 2014 and the arrival of John Stones pushed him out of Pep Guardiola's plans.
