US newspaper has absolute shocker with Manchester United-Barcelona report, says Adnan Jacuzzi scored

Most sports publications are no strangers to the odd typo, but one US paper had a complete meltdown with a match report from Manchester United and Barcelona’s pre-season friendly.

United won the game 3-1 courtesy of goals from Wayne Rooney, Jesse Lingard and Adnan Januzaj.

The report got the score spot on, but there were still a few glaring inaccuracies which made for amusing reading.

Firstly, United – and not Barca – were described as European champions in 2009 and 2011. Sadly, for Sir Alex Ferguson anyway, it was the Catalan giants who beat United in both those finals to conquer the continent.

However, more laughable was the ultimate spellcheck fail.

After correctly attributing the third goal to Januzaj, the report then concluded by saying it was in fact Jacuzzi who had bagged it.

Wonderful.
