How do you think Neymar will get on in Ligue 1?

View from France: Easily. Every top player that came to Ligue 1 in recent seasons (Ibra, Thiago Silva, Falcao, Balotelli) managed to succeed. Physically, it’s a harsh league but when you have good technical ability it's possible to dominate. Neymar is joining a team which is already built up, but he knows he will be the star - there is no doubt he will be the star here.
View from Spain: Neymar will fit perfectly in Ligue 1. We are talking about one of the greatest players of the moment and he has everything to succeed. Maybe it’s too soon to say, but it looks like the Brazilian will lift he league to a higher level.

Does this signal a shift in power away from La Liga?

View from France: From here, it can’t be said that Liga has lost power. PSG had too much to offer (financially first) to attract Neymar. But while that's a bad signal for Barcelona we can’t say Liga is losing power. He's a top player, but Barcelona will still be up there next season for sure.
View from Spain: Without a doubt. Neymar was one of the stars of La Liga, but it is also true that with Cristiano, Messi, Bale, Suárez and Griezmann still playing in Spain it’s possible to argue that La Liga will not be hugely affected by Neymar’s absence. Barca will still be one of the greatest teams in Europe with or without him.

Should PSG now be considered genuine Champions League contenders?

View from France: It was already the case. PSG were already a top-eight club from our point of view. But the signing of Neymar brings something new. It’s an international star but it doesn’t mean Paris will win the European Cup. However, now they have a new player who can create the difference all by himself in big games.
View from Spain: Yes. With Neymar, PSG will be one of the main contenders for the Champions League this year. We are talking about a strong team, with great players and a big start. The only doubts are over the club’s history. But that can be changed and Neymar could be the key.

Can transfer fees get higher than this, or is this the peak?

View from France: That's hard to say. Maybe only economists can give an accurate answer. What is clear is that if clubs continue to bring in more and more money (TV, sponsorship deals, etc…), they won’t hesitate to spend more. But when you see that Mbappe is worth €180million right now, it's hard to imagine it going any higher.
View from Spain: Who knows?! It is crazy and seems nonsensical, but time will tell. It seems as if football is teetering on the edge of a cliff right now.

Who are the potential replacements for Neymar at Barcelona?

View from France: The Catalan press quoted Ousmane Dembélé, Kylian Mbappe, Philippe Coutinho, Antoine Griezmann or Paulo Dybala. In all likelihood it will be one of the first three.
View from Spain: There are a lot players in Barca’s sights: Dybala, Dembélé, Coutinho, Griezmann, Di María, Rabiot, Mbappé and Verratti. But to be honest, Neymar doesn’t have a real replacement.

Is Neymar more or less likely to win the Ballon d’Or at PSG?

View from France: It depends on what PSG win. If they win the Champions League and Neymar is the star of the competition, then of course. But it might be harder for Neymar to win with PSG than with Barcelona.
View from Spain: He needs to win the Champions League or the World Cup to be able to dethrone Cristiano and Messi.
