Albania celebrated a dramatic 2-1 win over Macedonia 15 hours after their World Cup Group G qualifier began in Shkoder.
A torrential downpour had forced the game's abandonment at 1-1 in the 76th minute on Monday.
So the players were instructed to return for 14 minutes' action on Tuesday when striker Bekim Balaj settled matters by glancing in an 89th-minute close-range header to spark wild celebrations on the Albanian bench at the Loro Borici stadium.
On Monday Armando Sadiku had given Albania an early lead before Edgjan Alioski equalised shortly after halftime.
Earlier this summer the Balkan nation reached the finals of their first major tournament at Euro 2016.
