The striker, who has netted 26 goals for United since joining from Paris Saint-Germain on a free last summer, has the option to extend his one-year deal for a further 12 months.
The 35-year-old has already won the League Cup and Community Shield with United, while the club are also in the last eight of the Europa League and chasing a top-four spot in the Premier League.
Ibrahimovic has been an instrumental figure at Old Trafford this season, but with the league title out of reach, the Swede dropped the biggest hint yet that he could stay for another campaign by stating he "never leaves a job unfinished."
“I’m a person when I go into something I put my head 200 per cent, and I do what I’m good at. I go in, I go for the kill and I go out,” he told the ManchesterEveningNews.
And when I go out there is no complaints, that’s what I do. I never leave a job unfinished.
"I always go in, do my job, and in the way that is a fair play, a fair deal, that is what I do.”
Ibrahimovic has been linked with a summer move to MLS club LA Galaxy, but Jose Mourinho has already stated his intention to keep the evergreen forward.
When asked about extending his United stay, Ibrahimovic said: "Let’s see what happens, we are talking.
“I have an option for another year, I want to do great as long as I’m here, so let us see, there is a lot of time.”
