Rowland, whose priority remains the FR3.5 title, picked up MP Motorsport's first GP2 points of 2015 with a 10th-place finish in race one and seventh in race two.
The Racing Steps Foundation-backed driver could have been in the fight for a Sunday win had he not received a five-second penalty for exceeding track limits on Saturday, which cost him reversed grid pole.
Speaking to AUTOSPORT, Rowland revealed he is eyeing a quick return to GP2 thanks to a schedule gap with FR3.5 between its Red Bull Ring and Silverstone events.
"I'm going to concentrate on next weekend in Formula Renault but I've got a big gap after that," said Rowland.
"I can't help but feel that maybe I'll be back for Budapest because I've been there and it fits with my schedule.
"I'd love to be there but it's not my decision, it's with the Racing Steps Foundation.
"It'd be nice because now I know the car and I can start from where the others start.
"In fact I would have a bit of an advantage because I raced there two weeks ago."
Rowland was clear on his short-term aims but was more broad in his expectations for next year, stating DTM as a possible next step.
"We also have to see what else is an option in the future," said Rowland.
"If there was a DTM or LMP2 or LMP1 or anything like that available then we'd have to evaluate that long-term career wise.
"We're realistic about the Formula 1 dream, but it's interesting.
"I think this weekend has helped make things clearer, not for the immediate future, but maybe next year."
