Kiel stay in touch with Löwen

THW Kiel stayed in touch with Bundesliga leaders Rhein-Neckar Löwen after beating TSG Friesenheim.

Thanks to their 29:21 (13:8) victory the Zebras remain just two points behind the team from southern Germany. Top scorer on the day was Marko Vujin with seven goals, while Friesenheim’s Philipp Grimm scored six times.
Meanwhile HBW Balingen-Weilstetten, fired by seven goals from Martin Strobl, also stayed within striking distance of the top. The team from Swabia won 31:22 (16:9) against HC Erlangen and now have 11:7 points - good enough for third place.
In the chasing pack, VfL Gummersbach beat SC Magdeburg 28:27 (14:13) thanks to fine performances from goalkeeper Carsten Lichtlein and Andreas Schröder, who scored 10 goals. Magdeburg also had a 10-goal man in Robert Weber.
