THW Kiel and MOL-Pick Szeged ensured their involvement in the knock-out stage of the Champions League with respective victories over HC Prvo plinarsko drustvo Zagreb and HC Motor Zaporozhye.
German champions Kiel eased into the last 16 of the competition with three games to spare after a 34-27 win over the Croatian side while Szeged secured their progress with a 29-25 victory in Ukraine.
Kiel's position at the top of the Group A table, four points ahead of Paris Saint Germain, means their qualification is now secure with seven of 10 games played.
The result also afforded the German outfit a degree of revenge for their opening night defeat in Zagreb, when they were stunned by their hosts to get their campaign off to a shaky start.
Kiel right-back Steffen Weinhold was in scintillating form at the Sparkassen-Arena and topped the scoring charts for the game with nine goals, while former Zagreb playmaker Domagoj Duvnjak added seven against his old team.
In Group D, Hungarian side Szeged also enjoyed a comfortable victory and can now claim to be one of the form sides in the competition having registered their fifth straight win. They will now meet Kielce next week with top spot in the group up for grabs.
Jose Manuel Sierra was once again the star of the show in Szeged's win over Motor. The Spaniard was voted goalkeeper of the week last week and his latest performance will surely put him in the running for the award for a second time in succession.
Sierra repelled wave after wave of Motor attacks to see his side remain second in the group table, but nevertheless qualify for the next round.
Motor stay in fourth.
