KIF Kolding Kobenhavn moved outright top in Group B of handball's Champions League B after a narrow one-point win away at Orlen Wisla Plock.
The Polish side appeared on course for their first victory over the Danish champions and led for 25 minutes of the second half, but Kolding edged ahead as time ran out to emerge 29-28 winners.
At the Orlen Arena, Plock started strongly in defence and in attack, Kamil Syprzak finding the back of the net four times in the opening period before his side went in at break 15-14 ahead.
Kolding managed to shore up their defence slightly in the second half but problems remained in attack, where Rodrigo Corrales Rodal in the hosts' goal stood firm and made some crucial saves.
Yet the more experienced Danes slowly clawed their way back into the game, ultimately taking the lead before Cyril Viudes scored the decisive goal with 16 seconds left on the clock to open up a two-goal cushion at 29-27.
That proved enough as Kolding went clear at the top of the group, although they can be caught again when Barcelona play SG Flensburg-Handewitt on Saturday.
Elsewhere, Rhein-Neckar Löwen moved closer to the last 16 with a 31-27 win over RK Celje Pivovarna Lasko in Group C.
The Slovenian side dominated for much of the game and an upset seemed to be on the cards until Löwen begun to stamp their authority on the game after the break.
Having trailed by two points at half-time, the German side managed to turn the match on its head thanks to some fine goalkeeping by Niklas Landin and goals from Alexander Petterson.
"For the spectators it was an exciting game but it was not easy," Löwen coach Nikolaj Jacobsen said.
"In the last 20 minutes our defence got better and better, and Niklas (Landin) held firm."
In the other midweek match, C Motor Zaporozhye claimed their first Champions League Group D scalp with a 31-26 win over Kadetten Schaffhausen.
