Hosts Germany stunned favourites France with a 29-26 win at the World Handball Championship.

The win puts the Germans in a great position to qualify for the quarter-finals, while holders Spain beat Hungary 33-31.
At times Germany led by seven goals in a dominant performance over France, whose late rally never really threatened their adversaries.
Goalkeeper Henning Fritz saved two late penalties in the attempted fight back, whereas his French counterparts only managed six saves between them in the entire match.
African champions Tunisia were comfortably beaten 40-31 by Poland, iceland edged past Slovenia 32-31, an impressive second period display by Denmark saw them beat Russia 26-24 and Croatia beat Czech Republic 31-29.
