Spain enjoyed mixed news in the build-up to the World Championships, winning three games over the weekend but losing Barcelona star Salva Puig for the tournament due to injury.
They overcame an early 6-1 deficit to defeat Russia 39-28 with Iker Romero grabbing six goals.
Barcelona ace Romero also top-scored with seven as Poland, amongst the second seeds with Russia, were vanquished 27-25.
But Puig picked up a thigh injury and has been ruled out for three weeks so the defending champions have called up Jon Belaustegui of Ciudad Real.
That result was sandwiched by a thumping 41-19 triumph over Brazil with Demetrio Lozano netting eight.
There was a less satisfactory build-up for Germany who suffered two 30-29 defeats in consecutive days in behind closed doors friendlies against Egypt.
They are in Group C with the Poles, Brazil and Argentina who downed Angola 25-19 in another warm-up game.
The tournament begins on Friday with hosts Germany facing Poland in Berlin.
