Centers Steven Stamkos, Tyler Johnson and Valtteri Filppula scored goals and goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 23 of 24 shots in his NHL debut as Tampa Bay beat Philadelphia.

Right winger Wayne Simmonds scored Philadelphia's goal.

The 20-year-old Vasilevskiy, a first-round pick in 2012, was recalled from the Lightning's AHL affiliate in Syracuse, N.Y., earlier on Tuesday and made one outstanding left pad save on a backhander by center Scott Laughton in the third period.

Canadiens 4, Hurricanes 1

Center Alex Galchenyuk's first career hat-trick propelled Montreal to a win over Carolina.

Goaltender Carey Price stopped 25 of 26 shots for Montreal.

Counterpart Cam Ward stopped 25 shots for Carolina, who dropped their sixth successive game and have scored just once in each of those losses.

Right winger Phil Kessel scored twice as Toronto extended their winning streak to six games with a victory over Anaheim.

Center Tyler Bozak, left winger Joffrey Lupul, left winger David Booth and center Nazem Kadri also scored for Toronto.

Blue Jackets 1, Red Wings 0 (SO)

Centers Ryan Johansen and Boone Jenner scored in the shootout to give Columbus a 1-0 win in Detroit.

The win stretched Columbus' winning streak to seven games while Detroit lost their fourth straight.

Panthers 2, Capitals 1 (SO)

In the longest shootout in NHL history, the Florida Panthers edged the Washington Capitals 2-1 with Nick Bjugstad sealing it for Florida in the 20th round.

Center Mark Scheifele scored two second-period goals to pace Winnipeg in a victory over Buffalo.

Scheifele fired his fifth and sixth goals of the season and chipped in an assist while right winger Michael Frolik netted his seventh, left winger Evander Kane scored his fifth, and right winger Chris Thorburn notched his second.

Right winger Vladimir Tarasenko scored three goals and assisted on another as St. Louis rallied to defeat Los Angeles, extending their winning streak to five games.

Left wingers Jaden Schwartz and Alexander Steen also scored for St. Louis while right winger Marian Gaborik scored both goals for Los Angeles.

Center Derek Roy scored the only goal of the shootout as Nashville edged Boston.

Left winger Milan Lucic and right winger Reilly Smith scored in regulation for Boston while centers Mike Fisher and Mike Ribeiro replied for Nashville.

Blackhawks 5, Wild 3

Patrick Kane scored a go-ahead goal with less than four minutes remaining before Ben Smith sealed it in the final 20 seconds to give Chicago a win against Minnesota.

Blackhawks goaltender Antti Raanta stopped 26 of 29 shots while Wild goaltender Niklas Backstrom turned aside 34 of 38 shots.

Coyotes 2, Oilers 1

Arizona defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored with three-tenths of a second remaining in overtime to give Phoenix the victory over Edmonton.

Ekman-Larsson's shot from the left circle just beat the clock and was his seventh goal of the season.

New York Rangers left winger Rick Nash scored twice against the Calgary Flames, matching the NHL's longest point streak of this season by getting his name on the scoresheet for an 11th successive game.

Center Derek Stepan had a goal and an assist, while left-wingers Chris Kreider and Carl Hagelin also scored for the Rangers.
