A pretrial hearing is scheduled for Jan. 28. The jury trial has been set for March 2.
Two weeks ago at the initial arraignment hearing, Los Angeles Superior Court judge Hector M. Guzman ruled there was enough evidence presented to warrant Voynov to stand trial.
According to police, the two-time Stanley Cup champion choked and hit his wife and pushed her into a TV in their bedroom after an argument that began at a Halloween party on Oct. 19. A cut over her eye required eight stitches.
Voynov faces a maximum sentence of nine years in state prison if convicted.
Voynov was suspended, with pay, by the NHL after his arrest on Oct. 20. The NHL and players association agreed to allow the Kings to replace Voynov's salary and bonuses in regard to the salary cap.
Voynov, who is free on a $50,000 bond, has missed 30 games.
