Feb 26 (The Sports Xchange) - The Columbus Blue Jackets dealt injured right winger Nathan Horton to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for David Clarkson in the second of two trades made by the team on Thursday.

Earlier, the Blue Jackets sent Adam Cracknell back to the St. Louis Blues for future considerations. The Blues subsequently assigned Cracknell to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League.
The 29-year-old Horton, who has 421 points in 627 NHL games, was acquired by the Blue Jackets two years ago from the Boston Bruins but spent most of his time in Columbus on the injured list. He has missed all of this season after undergoing back surgery.
Clarkson has 112 goals, 84 assists and 955 penalty minutes in 544 career regular-season games with the Maple Leafs and New Jersey Devils. In 58 games this season, he has 10 goals, five assists and 92 penalty minutes.

With the trade deadline looming on Monday, the Florida Panthers acquired 43-year-old Jaromir Jagr from the New Jersey Devils on Thursday for a second-round draft pick in 2015 and a conditional third-round draft pick in 2016.
Jagr had 11 goals and 18 assists in 57 games for the Devils this season but was seeing reduced ice time.
The Panthers will be the eighth NHL team for the 21-year veteran.
He is the NHL all-time leader in game-winning goals with 127.

San Jose Sharks forward Raffi Torres will not return this season after undergoing knee surgery.
Torres, who first tore his right anterior cruciate ligament during an exhibition game against the Anaheim Ducks in 2013, is expected to recover in time for training camp next season, Sharks General Manager Doug Wilson said.

The Anaheim Ducks announced goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov has been placed on unconditional waivers and will return home for the remainder of the season.
Bryzgalov was assigned to Norfolk on Tuesday, and made the decision to return home to Philadelphia after discussing the situation with his family and agent.
Bryzgalov, 34, appeared in eight NHL games this season.

The Chicago Blackhawks acquired forward Spencer Abbott from the Toronto Maple Leafs in a trade for defenseman T.J. Brennan.
After the deal, the Blackhawks assigned Abbott to Rockford of the American Hockey League. The 26-year-old has 127 points in 168 AHL games in parts of four seasons with the Toronto Marlies.

Buffalo Sabres forward Zemgus Girgensons will miss at least two weeks after being struck in the lower right leg by a shot during Tuesday's victory at the Columbus Blue Jackets, coach Ted Nolan said.
Center Tyler Ennis is also listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury suffered at Columbus.
Girgensons and Ennis share the team lead with 15 goals each.
