Round-up: Alex Ovechkin hit a milestone for the season, but ended up on the wrong side of a nine-goal thriller.

Stars 5, Capitals 4
Erik Cole and centers Tyler Seguin and Jason Spezza each contributed goals and an assist for the Dallas Stars in a win against the Washington Capitals.
Dallas (20-17-7) led 2-0 after one thanks to Seguin's NHL-leading 27th goal of the season and Cole's 11th of the season.
Alex Ovechkin netted his 25th score of the season for the Capitals (24-13-8) in the defeat.

Red Wings 5, Predators 2
Tomas Tatar had two goals and an assist to lead the Detroit Red Wings to a 5-2 win over the Nashville Predators.
The loss snapped Nashville's five-game winning streak.
Gustav Nyquist opened the scoring 57 seconds in with the fastest goal to open a game this season for Detroit (25-11-9).
Nashville (30-10-4) goaltender Carter Hutton was pulled in favor of Marek Mazanec after allowing three goals on the first four shots.

Canadiens 6, Islanders 4
Tomas Plekanec scored two goals and added two assists to lead the Montreal Canadiens to victory over the New York Islanders.
Goaltender Dustin Tokarski made 27 saves for Montreal (28-13-3).
Kyle Okposo, left winger Nikolay Kulemin and centers Anders Lee and John Tavares provided the offense for the Islanders (30-14-1), who had a four-game winning streak snapped by Montreal for the second time this season.

Blues 3, Maple Leafs 0
Goaltender Brian Elliott stopped 27 shots and left winger Alexander Steen scored one goal and assisted on another to lead the St Louis Blues to victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The loss was the fourth in a row for the Maple Leafs, who were shut out for the third time on a four-game trip.
Defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk and T.J. Oshie added goals for St Louis (28-13-4).

Lightning 3, Avalanche 2 (SO)
The Tampa Bay Lightning lost the lead in the final seven seconds of regulation, but goalie Ben Bishop got two stops in the shootout for an overtime win over the Colorado Avalanche.
Tampa Bay (29-14-4) led for most of the third period but gave up the tying goal with 6.8 seconds left as Nathan McKinnon flicked a rebound past Bishop.
Bishop finished with 40 saves in the victory.

Blue Jackets 3, Bruins 1
The Columbus Blue Jackets, getting a winning goal from left winger Matt Calvert with 3:03 left, ended their four-game losing streak and Boston's five-game winning run with a decision over the Bruins.
Calvert added his sixth goal of the season into an open net with 37.3 seconds left as the Bruins (24-16-6) suffered their first regulation loss in 10 games.

Oilers 3, Panthers 2 (SO)
The Edmonton Oilers snapped a franchise-record 14-game road losing streak, beating the Florida Panthers in a shootout.
Nail Yakupov scored in the shootout to lead the Oilers. Edmonton goalie Viktor Fasth stopped all three Florida shooters to earn the win. Prior to that, he made 35 saves through regulation and overtime.
Florida fell to 20-13-10.

Hurricanes 3, Senators 2
Nathan Gerbe scored the winner with 5:41 left in the third period as Carolina defeated the Ottawa Senators.
Brad Malone and defenseman Justin Faulk also scored for the Hurricanes (15-25-5).
The Senators (18-18-8) got goals from defenseman Cody Ceci and winger Mark Stone.

Flyers 4, Sabres 3
Chris VandeVelde scored on a breakaway in the third period to lead the Philadelphia Flyers to a win over the Buffalo Sabres.
R.J. Umberger, defenseman Mark Streit and left winger Michael Raffl also scored for the Flyers (18-21-7). Goalie Rob Zepp made 24 saves for Philadelphia.
Buffalo tied a franchise record with their 10th straight loss.

Ducks 3, Kings 2
Jakob Silfverberg scored the lone goal in a shootout, lifting the Anaheim Ducks to a victory over the Los Angeles Kings.
Ducks goalie Frederik Anderson stopped 16 of 18 shots and three in the shootout, allowing the Ducks (30-10-6) to win their fourth straight and sixth in their last seven games. Kings netminder Jonathan Quick turned back 26 of 28 attempts.
The Kings (20-14-11) have dropped two consecutive games and five of their past six.

Flames 4, Sharks 3 (Overtime)
Sean Monahan scored 24 seconds into overtime and the Calgary Flames defeated the San Jose Sharks for their third straight win.
Defenseman Dennis Wideman, right winger Joe Colborne and right winger Jiri Hudler also scored for Calgary.
Center Logan Couture, center Joe Thornton and left winger Melker Karlsson scored for the Sharks (24-16-6).

Wild 3, Coyotes 1
Goals by Charlie Coyle and Jason Zucker gave the Minnesota Wild a two-goal lead midway through the second period, and newly acquired goaltender Devan Dubnyk held Arizona mostly at bay from there in Minnesota's win over the Coyotes.
The Wild (20-19-5) have now won two games in a row for the first time since Dec. 20.
Arizona (16-24-4) fell for the fourth straight time.
