Rangers bring down Red Wings in New York

Center Derick Brassard scored a power-play goal in overtime to give the New York Rangers a 4-3 victory against the Detroit Red Wings at Madison Square Garden.

Right winger Rick Nash scored his 10th of the season and right wingers Martin St. Louis and Lee Stempniak scored their third for the Rangers.
Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist made 25 saves, including one from a penalty shot by right winger Gustav Nyquist.
Defenseman Jakub Kindl, right winger Danny Cleary and left winger Tomas Tatar responded for the Red Wings, Tatar scoring with 7.7 seconds remaining to send the game to overtime.

Canadiens 2, Sabres 1 (SO)
Right winger P.A. Parenteau scored in both regulation and the shootout to lead Montreal to a victory over Buffalo.
The game-winner came in the third round of the shootout when Parenteau beat goalie Michal Neuvirth with a wrist shot high to the glove side.
Center Alex Galchenyuk also scored in the shootout for the Canadiens.
Goalie Dustin Tokarski made 31 saves in regulation for Montreal.
Right winger Drew Stafford scored for Buffalo while Neuvirth made 31 saves in regulation.
