Van Riemsdyk comes to Maple Leafs' rescue

James van Riemsdyk scored with a little more than four minutes left in the game as the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2.

The goal was at first waved off, but a video review showed that the puck had gone into the net. Nazem Kadri also scored twice for the Maple Leafs.
With their first win in three games, the Maple Leafs (28-21-6) snapped a three-game winning streak by the Lightning (31-17-5).

Bruins 6, Panthers 2
The Boston Bruins spoiled Tim Thomas's homecoming as they peppered their former goaltender in a victory over Florida.
Thomas, who led the Bruins to the 2011 Stanley Cup but walked out on the team to take a year off before last season, received cheers and a video tribute during a 35-save effort.
Milan Lucic scored twice to lead the charge for the Bruins (34-15-3).

Blues 3, Devils 0
Jaroslav Halak recorded his fourth shutout of the season and the St Louis Blues got goals from left wings Alexander Steen and Brenden Morrow in a victory over the New Jersey Devils.
Halak stopped 23 shots in extending his franchise record with his 20th shutout as a member of the Blues and the 29th of his NHL career.

Flyers 5, Red Wings 0
Scott Hartnell scored two goals, goaltender Steve Mason stopped 33 shots and the Philadelphia Flyers snapped a four-game winless streak by defeating the Detroit Red Wings.
With the win, Philadelphia (26-22-6) leapfrogged the Red Wings into eighth place in a jumbled Eastern Conference.
The undermanned Red Wings (23-19-11) played without three of their top five scorers: centers Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk, and right winger Johan Franzen.

Capitals 5, Sabres 4 (overtime)
Alex Ovechkin tallied two goals and two assists, setting up defenseman Mike Green with a perfect feed on the game-winner, to lead Washington past Buffalo.
Ovechkin passed Mike Gartner for second place on the Capitals' franchise points list with 790 career points, and now has a league-leading 38 goals.
Washington improved to 24-21-8.
Cody Hodgson had two goals for the Sabres (14-30-8).

Senators 3, Blue Jackets 2
Stephane Da Costa scored his first two goals of the season, and had the first two-goal game of his career, leading the Ottawa Senators to a win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Jason Spezza scored the game-winner for Ottawa with 4:58 remaining and Craig Anderson made 31 saves for Ottawa (23-20-10).
The Blue Jackets (26-23-4) lost for the third straight game after a franchise-record eight-game winning streak.

Canadiens 3, Hurricanes 0
Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price made 36 saves for his third shutout, left winger Max Pacioretty and right winger Brendan Gallagher each had a goal and an assist, and the Canadiens ended a season-high four-game losing streak.
Price, who was pulled for the second time in three games on Saturday, recorded his 22nd career shutout.
The Canadiens improved to 28-20-5 while Carolina dropped to 24-20-9.

Predators 4, Jets 3
Mike Fisher's power-play goal early in the third period lifted the Nashville Predators to a victory over the Winnipeg Jets.
The goal was his 14th of the season as Nashville improved to 24-23-8 and moved out of the Central Division cellar, a point ahead of Winnipeg (25-25-5).
